Making an impact

Our reporting to the United Nations Global Compact

London 17 Nov 2021: Chaucer, part of Bip Group is delighted to publish its first Impact Report today and share our journey towards a more responsible business. In this report, we highlight the differences we have made since we signed up to the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in November 2020.

As a new member of the UNGC, we are committed to deliver positive change for our people, our clients and our wider communities by closely aligning our approaches to the ten principles in support of the Sustainable Development Goals.

Fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion, and equity

“We celebrate difference because it makes us stronger as a company, opening new ideas and innovations.” Chris Laslett, Chaucer, CEO

At Chaucer, we are proud to have a human-centric culture and we strive to create a better workplace for our people. The dedication of our inclusion council to celebrate our diversity and promote inclusion allows us to foster an environment where we can all be true to ourselves. The encouragement from our improving lives community enables everyone to reach their health and wellbeing goals.

Empowering our people to give back

As we believe our people are our biggest asset, we empower them to make a difference. This year, more than 300 volunteering hours have been completed to 25 causes by our employees. And Chaucer continues to support them with fundraising activities to engage with the local charities they care about most.

Creating a sustainable future

Chaucer is committed to understand its impact on the environment and takes action to mitigate negative effects. We aim to achieve Net Zero by 2025 and are reducing our emissions in the with the Science Based Target Initiative. For the remaining emissions we have partnered with Gone West and offset by planting native trees. Now, sustainability is embedded in our policies to make sure every decision we make leads us to a more sustainable future.

We are proud of all we have achieved this year as a business, but we realise there is a lot of work to be done. That is why, in this report, we outline our ambitions for the coming year and would like to invite you to learn more about our future plans to use our business as a force for good to improve the lives of our people, our clients and our communities.
