It has only been 2 years since Tom joined Chaucer and entered the management consulting world. Right from the start, he showed exceptional adaptability to new industries and new roles, whilst developing quick rapport with our clients. He is regularly commended for his ability to get to the root cause of their problems and for encouraging a collaborative working environment.
Tom’s first assignment coincided with Chaucer’s initial deployment of its PMOFlexTM solution within a top 5 global telecommunications company. He designed a revised change request process, which boosted stakeholder engagement by aligning the telecommunications company and its Service Integrator to a single process.
Whilst working as a Change Manager on a major construction project, Tom helped his client overcome strong system resistance. The prioritisation tool he created helped guide system development investment decisions and enabled a transparent, democratic decision-making process in setting an aligned direction forward.
Tom also implemented a Risk Management system in his role as a Technical Subject Matter Expert for a Government-owned economic development bank. The level of risk intelligence this provided allowed the client to ‘own’ their risks and significantly improve business engagement.
A valued and active member of the Chaucer community, Tom leads the Internal Communications programme. Having largely created this role himself, he has built a team to support activities geared towards constantly improving transparency and engagement across the business. This includes launching and running Chaucer’s monthly podcast, which focuses on Board and CEO activity.
We are proud of Tom’s achievements and progress at Chaucer. As a great example of what someone embracing their unique talents and experiences could achieve through hard work, we wish him all the best with his nomination.
